Rosacea & Sensitive Skin

Rosacea and sensitive skin conditions can make covering up inflamed skin uncomfortable and difficult. Rosacea often presents itself as red irritated skin with small bumps and visible blood vessels while sensitive skin is actually your skin barrier being damaged and irritated. There technically is no such thing as sensitive skin just irritation to the barrior (i just learned this too!)

Luckily i've had a lot of help from other users who suffer from rosacea/sensitive skin and lots of advancement in the industry to help.

What to Avoid

Rosacea: Stress, alcohol, sun exposure, spicy foods, over toning, over moisturizing

Sensitive Skin: too much acid/alcohol in skin care products, over moisturizing, over toning, sun damage

Some products recommended from a follower named Ashlyn who struggled with Rosacea and shared her products that were shown to her by her dermatologist.

SkinCeuticals is a highly rated brand that is known for reducing redness in just one use. Ashlyn loved this medical grade gel and swears by it.

This sunscreen is good for acne, rosacea, and hyper-pigmentation (sun burned) prone skin. Unlike chemical sunscreen that we use on the beach that actually absorbs UV rays, this zinc oxide sun screen reflects sunlight and is less irritating on the skin. This product was also recommended by a derm on the Today Show.

Jade Rollers and Gua Sha has been known for lymphatic support, anti aging, as well as soothing skin when cool. These cool rollers can actually help irritated skin to become less inflamed and irritated.

This neat mini fridge is cute, portable, AND helps reduce inflammation around the skin and eyes. Not only does this help eye bags but this also helps soothe an irritated skin barrier.

This $5 steal is a long held beauty secret by makeup artists to neutralize skin tone. A green primer actual cancels out red and will help reduce the appearance of flushed skin when applying makeup.

Daily Power defense rebuilds the skin barrier by repairing DNA, boosting collagen, hyaluronic acid, and provides antioxidants. Ashlyn sent me a page by nurse practitioner Emily Rockwell who recommends this product to patients as well as describes sensitive skin so well to us.

Cleansers & Creams Recommended from the Today Show

A more natural alternative with soybean and chamomile flower extract to soothe the skin.

2. Aveeno Ultra Calming

Contains feverfew to reduce redness and irritation. Particularly gentle on sensitive skin.

This is a long standing classic dermatologist favorite as it maintains the skin barrier where as most cleansers strip the skin barrier (thus creating sensitive skin).

I saw this particular product recommended by quite a few dermatologists amongst those on the today show so it's safe to say this is a solid product for fighting rosacea and redness.
